Aelita brings her glamour and European flair to a joint project with DIVA. "Swing Around The World" features Aelita with The DIVA Jazz Orchestra in Tommy Newsom's unique arrangements of jazz standards, Broadway hits and international favorites, highlighting the innovative, unified sound of a symphony orchestra with a jazz orchestra.
This unique all-female orchestra was founded by Stanley Kay, a former manager and drummer for Buddy Rich Big Band. Voted one of the best big bands in the world in Downbeat Magazine 2004, DIVA, under the leadership of Sherrie Maricle, has performed to critical acclaim in many of the world's most prestigious music venues including a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall with New York Pops Orchestra, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and at major festivals around the globe, to name a few.
